Our Mission and Purpose

To help fulfill the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit by winning people to Jesus Christ, building them in their faith and sending them to do the same.

A key motivating passage of Scripture for this movement is taken from Matthew 28:16-20;

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Our Vision

To build spiritual movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.

Our Values

A heart for God, heart for one another and a heart for the lost.

Faith, fruitfulness and growth.

Our Audience

We aim to influence the influencers, the leaders of our nation, in order to see movements of multiplying disciples in Namibia.  Our priority focus therefore is with the students in tertiary education though we also aim to spiritually build, train and equip Namibians in the church, workplace and community.

Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC)has been a spiritual movement since 1951.  Founded in the USA by Bill and Vonette Bright it began primarily as a movement on university campuses but is now a worldwide organisation ministering in many different areas.

This movement has expanded into nearly 200 countries, with around 27,000 staff worldwide.

CCC International is the creator of the record-breaking ‘Jesus’ Filmviewed by over 2 billion people and translated into 1400 languages, and publisher of the ‘Knowing God Personally’ booklet (the 4 Spiritual Laws) with more than 2.5 billion copies printed to date in the world’s major languages.

Serving in fulltime capacity, under the name VitalContact.

We served with CCC for 15 years, the first years as trainers in the Great Commission Training Centre, and later in the Community Ministry, reaching out to people in the workplace, helping them to live a godly lifestyle in their workplace.  We also supported and helped establish a prayer movement in schools.  We were involved because the practical teaching and transferable concepts of CCC touched and changed our lives toward more fruitful living, by winning people to Christ, helping them establish a steady walk with Him, to also sharing their faith to create a multiplying discipleship ministry themselves.  In VitalContact we now disciple Christians to live a meaningful life in relationship with God, having a lasting impact in their personal areas of influence.

I have been a loyal supporter of Campus Crusade for Christ since they trained Chrisna and myself, in our first marriage seminar, 1988.  I value their focus on what the Bible says we all should do – “to make disciples”.  They therefore add value to churches and church members who should address people’s needs in the work place.  They are integrous, focused on their calling, being Kingdom-minded and they make Namibia a better place to live in.

My friend and I were invited to an evening ‘bash’ at UNAM in 2002 or 2003, it’s been such a long time ago. We were told, there is free hot chocolate - as a hostel student - you jump at such opportunities.  I remember the best thing about it was the non-denominational gathering.  We were just students who love the Lord and had fun.  I loved the fellowship, you never felt like any belief or religion was forced down your throat.  Bronwyn and I joined CCC on a mission to the North, which I never will forget.  On this mission, besides the great fun and cold water showers, long drives and hard sleeps, I had the greatest revelation I think I ever had.  My Dad was an alcoholic, resulting in me not loving him unconditionally.  On this mission, I came to learn that what my Dad was doing had a root and if I don’t understand that root, I will never be able to understand him and love him.  All the pieces in the puzzle came together.  I was able to share my testimony with other students at one of our ‘bashes’ in Oshakati, where I could share that I was able to forgive my Dad for everything he ever did.  God gave me a second chance with Dad, two years later, he passed away.  I would not have been able to live with myself if I didn’t forgive him.  At CCC I learnt that denomination is not important, it’s all about a relationship with God and the Great Commission.  Today as a working mother, I value the small principles I have learnt i.e. Women mentor other women, not men or the other way around.  I am blessed to this day by that student who lured us with hot chocolate to that Bash.  I pray that many other students will be blessed by CCC as I have been.

We explicitly affirm our belief in basic Bible teachings, as follows:

·         There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons -Father, Son and Holy Spirit - each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality.

·         Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.

·         He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.

·         He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died

·         He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own.

·         Man was originally created in the image of God.  He sinned by disobeying God; thus, he was alienated from his Creator. That historic fall brought all mankind under divine condemnation.

·         Man's nature is corrupted, and he is thus totally unable to please God.  Every man is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

·         The salvation of man is wholly a work of God's free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony.  God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in His sight.

·         It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Saviour.  This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit, but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written Word.

·         The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption.  His fullness, power and control are appropriated in the believer's life by faith.

·         Every believer is called to so live in the power of the indwelling Spirit that he will not fulfil the lust of the flesh but will bear much fruit to the glory of God.

·         Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all people living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith.

·         God admonished His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement.

·         At physical death the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting glory and blessing.

·         At physical death the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation.

·         Jesus Christ will come again to the earth - personally, visibly and bodily - to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.

·         The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the gospel throughout the world and to disciple people of every nation.  The fulfilment of that Great Commission requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to "Him who loved us and gave Himself for us."
